I Love My Job Every Day Now That I’m Doing What I Love
I previously had no idea that my high school hobby would one day to turn out to be a lucrative career for myself. I took a photography class in high school, and I really loved it. But I viewed it as a hobby, and nothing more. But now, it’s my life. My very first job as a photographer was at a Denver fashion show that I was invited to work at. That was when I learned what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I have a business degree, but I don’t think that I will ever need to use it because I am now doing something that is creative and fun instead.
My parents are the ones who pushed me into getting a business degree. I was into painting, making things out of clay and creating things in in general. My parents told me that I would never make much money doing creative things. I have never wanted to be a millionaire, but I knew that I would be happy doing something if it had something to do with being creative. They told me that that was not a smart idea. So I finally gave in and went to school to get a degree in general business. They had explained to me that that it would help me get my foot in the door at many companies.
About a year ago, a friend of mine was hosting a fashion show, and he mentioned that one of their usual photographers was out sick one day. I jokingly told him that I took photography in school, and his eyes lit up. He asked if I wanted to fill in for the other guy who was out sick. I told him yes, but I also explained to him that it had been a long time and I was probably little rusty. He ended up up loving all the pictures that I took, and that’s when I made the decision to become a full time photographer.
